Asian Restaurants

  • Kinki Sushi - 41 Royal York St.  A hip sushi restaurant with the feel of a cocktail lounge.  The DJ spins while you enjoy.  The ambiance is great, the service is good, but the sushi is hit or miss.  A nice alternative is Wasabi restaurant.

  • Royal Thai – 272 Dalhousie St. A safe bet if have a craving for some Thai.

  • Coconut Lagoon – 853 St-Laurent Blvd.  If you like Indian cuisine this place is worth the drive.  The southern style of food is fantastic.  The lunch buffet is cheaper on the weekdays, but still well worth the extra dollars on the weekend.  Try as I might, I have yet to achieve the goal of not over-eating when we go.

  • Suisha Gardens - 208 Slater St. .  Our favorite Sushi in Ottawa. It is expensive, but fresh and oh soooo good.

  • Sweet Basil – 1585 Bank St.  A nice little Thai place with a reliable menue.

  • Yangtze – 700 Somerset St W.  A large dim sum restaurant in China Town.  I am no expert in this type of food, but we enjoyed the experience.

  • Mekong – 637 Somerset St.  Really tasty Asian cuisine served up in a funky little restaurant.  We like to order a series of appys.  Very well reviewed…

Went to Siam Kitchen on Bank St last night. Four of us split 4 different dishes. 3 out of 4 were really good, and the fourth was not bad. I would recommend Siam to anyone in need of a Thai fix.
