- Coconut Lagoon – 853 St-Laurent Blvd. If you like Indian cuisine this place is worth the drive. The southern style of food is fantastic. The lunch buffet is cheaper on the weekdays, but still well worth the extra dollars on the weekend. Try as I might, I have yet to achieve the goal of not over-eating when we go.
Map It! - Canal Ritz – 54 Queen Elizabeth Dr. Location location location. This place is located on the Rideau Canal. Really, it’s not beside it, but on it. If your on the deck, and you drop your fork, it could hit the water (or ice). A great spot to stop any time of the year that you find yourself exploring the canal. The food is hit or miss, but the ambiance and service are both pretty good.
Map It! - Dow’s Lake Pavilion – There are three different restaurants here with great patios. Even if you can’t take advantage of the patio it makes a nice warm up spot in the middle of the day skating on the canal.
Map It! - The Works – This is an Ottawa chain of 5 restaurants found around town. Although I haven’t actually counted, there are probably 80 or so different types of burgers available. Choose your bun, your type of protein, and then the daunting task of picking which one of the topping combinations you want; from blue cheese and pepper to peanut butter, the choice is yours.
Map It! - Suisha Gardens - 208 Slater St. Our favorite Sushi in Ottawa. It is expensive, but fresh and oh soooo good.
Map It! - Milagro Grill – 357 Richmond Rd. We like to call it high-end Mexican cuisine. Everything on the menu is really good. Service, ambiance and price conspire to make this one of the best value restaurants in town. One of our favorites.
Map It! - Green Earth Vegetarian Cuisine – 354A Preston St. A great variety of tasty vegetarian and Vegan options.
Map It! - 107 Fourth Avenue Wine Bar – This Glebe wine bar is a funky little place with an outstanding wine list and exquisite appy selection. One of our favorites.
Map It! - Sweet Basil – 1585 Bank st. A nice little Thai place with a reliable menu.
Map It! - Mystiko Greek Kitchen and Wine Bar – Very good food served in a nice ambiance. High end Greek food.

Oz Kafe for dinner last night. I don't like to go too strong after an initial tasting, but it was really good. The soul food dish and tomato salad were particularly yummy!
Had dinner at the Pelican Grill on Bank st a few weeks ago. The location is, well, odd I guess... You don't often find fine dining in a strip mall, but this place is one of Ottawa's best for sea food.
