Pubs

  • Chez Lucien – 137 Murray St. This is one of our favorite restaurants.  The quaint atmosphere is nicely paired with great service.  The burgers are legendary (they have vegetarian and salmon options as well as beef).  If you like liver and onions this is also your place.  All of this can be nicely topped off with one of several options of Quebec micro-brew beers.

  • The Highlander Pub – 115 Rideau st.  This Scottish pub consistently serves good food at a reasonable price.  The burgers and steaks are worth a try.  If you like scotch, this place has an impressive selection.  The patio is right in the heart of the Market and is a fantastic place to enjoy a pint on a warm afternoon.

  • D'Arcy McGee's Irish Pub - 44 Sparks St. Fun atmosphere, good food and good service.  The boxties are great and the beer is plentiful.  Friday happy hour has cheap pints and free oysters

  • Pub Italia – 434 Preston St.  This unique pub is a quirky mix of pub and monastery.  The “Beer Bible” contains about 200 options from around the world.  This place is perhaps the most interesting place to eat in the city.  Unfortunately the food is only average, but the combination of amazing beer selection and funky décor make this a pub worth your time and money.

  • Heart and Crown Pub – 347 Preston St.  A beautifully crafted pub with fine woodwork and brass fixtures.
